The
Virginia Beach Spring Craft Market features 150 fine artists and craftspeople
from across the nation offering fine arts, handcrafted jewelry, wood,
glass, photography, candles, woven baskets, clothing, toys, folk art and
specialty foods. Exhibitors introduce new lines and special accessories
for the home and garden including wrought iron, welcome wreaths, garden
statuary, birdhouses, outdoor furniture, pottery and wind chimes.
Meet
the artisans, learn the stories behind their work and shop for the best
in fine arts and fine crafts — from simple to lavish - you'll find
one-of-a-kind creations for every budget.
A long time customer says: "I found beautiful art work for
my home, unique stepping stones for my garden, cute accessories for
my daughter's room, a gift of jewelry for my friend and the perfect
scarf for my mother for Mother's Day."
Each piece is a creation from the skilled hands of an American craftsperson.
Each purchase supports the history and tradition of true American craftsmanship.
In
addition, Heritage Celebration!, an area of educational demonstrations
by local craft designers and guilds (here
are the 2009 Guild participants), has been a huge success since its
premier presentation in 1997. See and interact with local craft guild
members in the gallery. These gifted artisans will demonstrate the techniques
and skills used to produce quality American-made crafts. Live demos include:
knitting, spinning, sewing, beadwork, quilting, woodcarving and wood turning
just to name a few. Bring the kids and let them watch a crafter turn a
simple slab of clay, block of wood, or skein of yarn into a stunning and
functional work of art.
Events
Management Group, Inc. works with the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia
helping needy families by collecting donations of canned goods. For 50
cents off admission bring one or more cans of food to donate to the Food
Bank.

Good News

"We collected 4,500 pounds of food, bringing our 7
year food total to 47,433 pounds! The craft show/sale drew shoppers from
the mid-atlantic region and vendors from across the United States. Our
hosts, the very friendly people of Events Management Group, made us feel
right at home."

"Support American Craftspeople"
The craft show industry and America's artisans are feeling
the effects of cheap, imported knock offs now being sold in every mega-retail
store and catalog throughout the U.S.
With this major issue at hand, we, as promoters, will continue
our efforts in creating awareness and appreciation for all American artists
and craftspeople.
Please join us at the next show where you will find some
of the most creative and exciting handcrafts and fine art exhibited anywhere
in Virginia this season.
