Newbie's Corner

Welcome to the Newbie's Corner!  It is a great time to start your own craft business, and we would like to help you along the way!  There is a growing upward trend among craft shows where folks are returning to hand made one-of-a-kind items for special gifts or collections.

There are a lot of things to consider before entering into the craft exhibitor's world.  Once a month we will offer hints and tips that will hopefully make the start up process a bit easier. With almost 30 years of experience in the art and craft show business we have been able to see a lot of success stories (and some real gaffs) that we have compiled into proven    strategies to lead you to success as you begin this fun adventure.  Not only do we produce three craft shows annually, we also love to go to craft and art shows ourselves!  This gives us a unique perspective to help you see both the exhibitor and the customer's point of view.

Advice for a beginner

I am relatively new to the craft show business and looking for all information and suggestions that I can find.  It seems that I am a bit late for this year's holiday season but perhaps I can get an earlier start for the 2011 show circuit.

How far in advance should I apply for a booth?

Any advice from the EMG folks or any experienced vendors would be greatly appreciated.
