During a helicopter accident, Maher acquired a traumatic brain injury and lost the artistic right side of her brain. This traumatic experience took a lot of time away from her, but through pure determination it ultimately led her back to the world of art and inspired her most rewarding and cathartic paintings. Her award winning series, Unwanted Events, visually breaks down the emotional, mental. and physical pain of the event, which can relate to so many. |
